"Zambia is my territory my Land...
Zambia is my land, Zambia is my territory Zambia is my land" was the song that usually played on our national television as I was still a young one.
I grew up not knowing much about my country only a few things that constituted our primary school syllabus of social studies as our teachers cruised through the subject. However, when I got into high school I was sent to learn at a school in the Northern Province. For my love of adventure and learning I involved myself in clubs and we would travel to other schools and go for field trips. From there I got to see and experience unscathed Zambia, true nature and true beauty, expressed in song a beautiful melody to the eye. As we ascended up the road my eye was struck by the beauty there was calm and quiet and I refrained from blinking for fear of interrupting and missing this moment that up to now is still fresh in my mind. Even now as I close my eyes I can still see the beautiful orange sunset above the rich green leafage of the trees in the savanna, the suns rays touching the surface of the rocky mountain making it look like a big chunk of copper rock, the fresh air that tasted like a new side of life pure clean organic air, as a gentle breeze softly touched my face, there was a sense of paradise... as we ascended up the road the sky was decorated by birds flying back to their nests; different spices some looked like they were flying backwards in creatively arranged patterns as though it was a planned show. I saw the big shimmering orange ball no longer fierce but soft going down slowly behind the clouds into the horizon.... I was left there mesmerized, my eyes watering due to gazing without blinking or maybe not...lol. but all in all 't was amazing.
I then asked myself how any people know about the unscarred richness Zambia possesses, like stumbling over a sought jewel that's how I felt and I want to show it off to the whole world.
I Love this land My country Zed
Eternity....
